For your 7-day round trip in the Klaipeda area

Individual arrival of participants in Klaipeda. You can arrive by ferry from Kiel or by plane to Palanga (approx. 30 km from Klaipeda). You can fly to Palanga via Copenhagen or via Riga. Upon arrival at the hotel, the bikes, maps and information material are collected. Later, enjoy an individual walking tour of the Old Town.

The first cycle route leads from Klaipėda in a southerly direction. You will ride along a picturesque route called the land of storks. You will reach your destination, the town of Silute, in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, a cycling tour to Rusne Island in the Nemunas Delta Regional Park. During the tour around the island, you can admire the beautiful and wild nature, the lighthouse from the 19th century and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and Hermann Kallenbach. On return, a visit to the town of Silute is planned.

Before noon, a cycling tour to the village of Vente. At Vente Cape, where the migratory bird migration route leads, there is an ornithological station worth visiting and a historic octagonal lighthouse. On the way back to Silute, you will visit the village of Minija, known as ‘Lithuania's Venice’. The only thoroughfare in the village is the river, and the means of transport is a boat. Houses stand on both sides of the river, with their facades facing the water.

After breakfast, a scenic cruise to Nida awaits you. During the journey across the Curonian Lagoon, you can admire the beautiful dunes of the Curonian Spit. Nida is a charming fishing village situated picturesquely on the lagoon among Europe's largest wandering dunes. In Nida, you can enjoy the magnificent view from the highest dune, visit the Thomas Mann House, the Amber Gallery, the Kuron pagan cemetery, old barges and typical fishing houses. After your stay in Nida, continue your cycling tour of the Curonian Spit. In Juodkrantė, visit the Witches' Hill, where there are unusual wooden figures from Lithuanian mythology. Near Juodkrantė, a colony of grey herons and cormorants is also worth seeing. A peaceful route leads through Smiltynė to the northern end of the spit. In Smiltynė, visit the Sea Museum and take in a show at the Dolphinarium. Then you return to Klaipėda by ferry. Visit the old town, see the famous ‘Anna of Tharau’ monument on Theatre Square, the old post office and beautiful houses.

In the early hours of the morning, you will set off for the Seaside Regional Park. Driving along the Baltic coast, you will reach Palanga, a popular Lithuanian resort. There you will see: a former palace with a botanical garden, which now houses the famous Amber Museum, a 470-metre-long pier and numerous cafés and restaurants. After exploring the resort along the same scenic route, you will return to your hotel in Klaipėda.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
