The itinerary
at a glance

For your 6-day tour from Trier to Koblenz

Trier is regarded as the oldest city of Germany. Numerous Roman monuments are omnipresent. Your rental bikes are already stored in the hotel.

Before you start your bike tour, you should definitely plan some time to visit the famous amphitheater and the Porta Nigra. Here you can experience and comprehend 2000 years of history up close.

You start your cycle tour along the beautiful Moselle. An educational wine trail tells you all about local grape varieties. Neumagen-Dhron is the oldest wine village in Germany. The first wine tasting awaits you at your winegrower's in the evening!

You will soon reach Bernkastel-Kues, where the numerous small alleyways and colorful half-timbered houses will impress you. Of course, you should try the famous “Bernkastler Doctor”.

The rest of your cycle tour now takes you through the “Kröver Nacktarsch” wine-growing region. A boat trip (optional) offers wonderful views of the surrounding vineyards. You have reached your next overnight stop in Burg or Reil, where you will stay in a very nice hotel with its own vineyard.

Today you will once again be accompanied by numerous vineyards on both sides of the Moselle. Continuing along the river, you reach the next well-known wine-growing region, the “Zeller Schwarze Katz”.

Finally, you reach your stage destination of Treis-Karden via Beilstein, also known as the Rothenburg on the Moselle, and Cochem, with its charming town center and the 11th century Reichsburg castle.

A detour to the medieval Eltz Castle, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles in Germany, is definitely worthwhile. Situated in the middle of nature, it has a fairytale-like beauty and offers breathtaking views.

Back on the Moselle cycle path, you will pass numerous pretty wine villages on your last stage before you reach Koblenz, the final destination of this wonderful cycle tour. The city center is located at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers and is perfect for a final stroll through the city.

After breakfast, a varied cycling vacation along the fabulous Moselle cycle path comes to an end. We are happy to book extra nights for you.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.
