For your 11-day tour from Tallinn to Vilnius
Individual arrival in Tallinn. Accommodation in the hotel. In the evening, a guided city tour is scheduled. Together with your guide, you will discover the restored medieval town of the old Hanseatic city, full of numerous monuments. Overnight in Tallinn.
After breakfast, meet your tour representative and take a short bus ride (approx. 60 km). Then you will enjoy your first cycling tour through Lahemaa National Park, known for its beautiful and diverse nature. Established in 1971, this park was the first national park in the former Soviet Union. On the romantic Baltic coast, you will visit an interesting maritime museum and then visit a manor house with a forestry museum. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation located within the park.
Today, after a transfer by our minibus (approximately 110 km), you will embark on a scenic cycling route along Lake Peipus, which marks the border with Russia. Lake Peipus is the fifth largest lake in Europe, covering an area of 3,555 square kilometres, 44% of which belongs to Estonia. You will arrive in Estonia's second-largest city, Tartu, in the late afternoon. Here you will still visit the old town, including the main university building, the observatory, the town hall and the Angel Bridge.
Today, after leaving Estonia by minibus (approx. 140 km), you will embark on a cycling tour through Gauja National Park, the largest and oldest in Latvia. Along the way you will visit the medieval town of Cesis, where you will see the largest monastic castle ruins in Latvia. You will arrive at your hotel in the resort town of Sigulda in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in/around Sigulda.
After a short bus journey (about 60 km), we arrive in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The city, founded in 1201 by Bishop Albert, is the largest of the three Baltic capitals. A guided city tour is scheduled before noon. In the afternoon, time is at your disposal. During the walk, you will see the castle, cathedral, St. Peter's Church, the Three Brothers, the Great and Small Guildhall. Of particular interest are the restored Art Nouveau townhouses.
After breakfast, we travel by minibus (approx. 110 km) to the western part of Latvia. Today's cycling tour takes you through picturesque Courland. The destination of the day is the town of Kuldiga, where you can admire the beautiful wooden houses, the restored bridge over the Venta River and the waterfall.
In the morning, we leave Latvia by minibus and head towards Lithuania (a journey of about 140 km). Immediately after crossing the border, another cycling tour along the Baltic coast begins. On the way, you will visit the Lithuanian summer capital Palanga, known for its bathing beaches, unforgettable sunsets, pier and Amber Museum. You will reach your accommodation in Klaipeda by bicycle. In the evening, we recommend a walk around the old town.
In the morning, you will cross the Curonian Spit by ferry. The picturesque cycling route takes you through forests and old fishing villages of Juodkrantė (The Black Forest), Preila and Pervalka. In Juodkrantė, you will visit the Hill of Witches, where there are wooden sculptures inspired by Lithuanian mythology. Near this village, you will also visit an interesting cormorant colony. In the afternoon you will reach the picturesque fishing village of Nida. Here you will visit the Thomas Mann House, the Kuron Cemetery and admire the beautiful landscapes and house architecture.
You will start the day with a boat cruise on the Curonian Lagoon to the Lithuanian mainland. After the cruise, you will enjoy a cycling trip through the Nemunas Delta Regional Park. The route takes you through Silute to the Cape of Ventė, where there is a notable bird observatory and an octagonal lighthouse. In the evening you will arrive at your hotel in Kaunas.
After breakfast, stroll through the old town, where you can visit the town hall and the Gothic cathedral. Then, after a short bus ride (about 60 km), you will start your final cycling tour. A beautiful, slightly hilly landscape with numerous lakes will lead you after about 20 km to Trakai, where you will visit an interesting Gothic castle on an island in Lake Galve. After your visit to Trakai, you will travel by bus (about 30 km) to Vilnius. The beautiful Lithuanian capital, full of baroque and classicist buildings, will be presented by your guide.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.
The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.
Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.
The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.
Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.
Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.
Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!
Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
